high five for friday

Good morning lovies! :)

"it's Friday, Friday, evvvvverbody loves Friday! TGIF, Friday! Wahooooo"

That was me doing my Friday dance/singsong voice! lol Hope everyone's day has started off on the right foot! However, mine did not..... I woke up an hour late, was only about 15 minutes late to work, thankful for a boss that doesn't really care what time I get in if I let her know & my other two boss' (CFO & AVP) are out of the office! #score --- Moving on!

So this week was a little rough, okay let's be honest just Thursday, as in yesterday. I had my first lab test/quiz/experiment, what could go wrong?! HA. never ask that question. I was stressed out because I had to have goggles for lab but I had yet to buy them, so the procrastinator in me waits until the day of to buy them before class. I usually leave work around 4:40pm to head to school -- frantically worrying if there would be any goggles left (yes, I worry about things I can't control) I got there about 5:20pm and there were TONS of goggles left, WHEW dodged that bullet. Okay, so I'm thinking I'm all good and prepared for class - so I go to change clothes, because you have to wear certain clothes to Chemistry Lab - whoknew - after I change clothes I'm finally chilled out and I can go wait for class to begin (this is about 5:30). I'm sitting there thinking and I realize we are having a quiz and lab over measurement today so I will need my calculator, well I dig through my purse and my bag and its NO WHERE to be found! I die - my face is burning, I'm getting anxious - my stomach gets this sick feeling. I'm thinking greaaaat way to begin your first grades in this class by being unprepared. So we get through lecture -- all the while I am not really paying any attention because I'm so nervous about the quiz and I'm in a rather foul mood, just because I'm very hard on myself. We take a break in between lecture/lab and when we returned for lab it was time to take the quiz; to my surprise Dr. Peterson had a stack of calculators waiting for us if anyone needed one. WOW, can I just say that the Lord always, always, always takes care of us even if we are doubtful or scared or worried or whatever the case may be and we I have got to learn this! I mean really I could have trusted the Lord to take care of it and saved myself a lot of worry, etc. Thanks for the lesson, I'm going to try my best to remember this the next time I get stressed out, scared, worried! (and really all of that wasn't THAT big of a deal - I just made it more of a big deal than it was - yes I know no need to point that out. Ha.)

Time for Everything

Happy Monday y'all!

I got a little behind this past week due to school ending and just being busy in general. Well I will catch you up!

Last week I took Monday - Thursday (yes, looking back should have just added Friday to that list!) off of work so that I would be able to fully focus on school and study for the 3 tests I had. . . . I did really well and was so thankful to the Lord for helping my memory work on those tests, I was really needing to improve my test grades and he helped me out through my struggles! Especially being off from work was quite helpful.

I was able to spend a little time on myself.  I went to get my nails at my favorite place City Nails, which by the way is absolutely one of my favorite things to do, it's so relaxing!

Thursday evening I went to dinner with two of my classmates to celebrate the end of class! We had survived. We decided to go to a place in Addison called The Social House, it was really good by the way and has a good happy hour! We enjoyed and I can't wait to hangout with those girls again soon.

The rest of the weekend I did absolutely. nothing. NOTHING. ah, it was nice. I relaxed and layed out with my good friend DP. We got to catch up from not seeing each other in about a month. Sunday, I went to Fellowship Church in Grapevine and volunteered at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. It was a pretty good weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

So the next two weeks will consist of relaxing, getting my apartment decorated, since yes, I still have boxes sitting around. I registered for my next class which will begin on August 27th and it is Chemistry, so begin the prayers now!

I missed the High Five for Friday last week, so this week I will try and make up for it.

Hope everyone enjoys their Monday - you are not guaranteed a tomorrow!

XOXO,

HUMP DAY

Well the week is almost half over, except, I'm thinking to myself "it's only Wednesday"...

On the school front,

We began module II (which is chapters for exam II) over the Heart, Blood Vessels and Lymphatic systems. So far, it has been very overwhelming - man, the Lord's an intricate guy. Every single thing in your body has a name, arteries, veins, my goodness. I knew, but I didn't know.

In other news,

I am on Day 3 of Soul Detox  Jeremiah 12:1-4, but I like to read the whole chapter to get perspective, sometimes the one before and after.

What I took away from this chapter: many people, myself included say they are "Christians" but don't always live according to the way the Bible says we should. We speak about God and talk about the great things He has done for us, or how He saved someone and with the same mouth - out comes a curse word or we gossip about somebody we don't even know, I think this could be a version what
"...You are ever on their lips, but far from their conscience" (Jeremiah 12:2)
is saying, it could also mean people that are not saved and are not believers yet have knowledge of God but are not convicted to turn from their "worldly ways". I also think of it in this way, about a year ago I was on a horrible path, angry for a lot of reasons that I won't get into - thank you Lord for forgiveness and didn't want anything to do with the church, God, or any "Christian" friends. I was into drinking a lot, all the time and just didn't care about the consequences, yet I would still talk about God like I wasn't doing anything wrong to my "Christian" friends. I think that is definitely a version of this verse. The Lord has been working in my heart for a while and I want to be genuine, I want to be real, so that's why I thought I would share a little piece of my struggles I have been through. Now, just because I went through that year abandoning God, because that's exactly what I did, that is the greatest thing about Him - He will NEVER abandon me and will ALWAYS love me (and you, yes you!) & PRAISE Him that it doesn't mean I am no longer a child of God or a "Christian". Beyond thankful for Him that he accepts me as I am, my sinful, screw-up self and that I can come into His presence without fear of rejection. #shereadstruth

I will get off the soap box, or just my rambling mode now!

ZUMBA tonight ;) it's one of my FAVORITE workouts! If you have yet to try it, get your butt to a class! You will not regret it, unless you don't like to dance, then fine be a party pooper.

Also, this weekend on Sunday is one of my very good friends birthdays - I hope to share in her celebration this weekend, only if I study a lot prior! #crossingmyfingers #igotthis

XOXO,
