3. THE MIX at Fellowship Church kicked off this week and IT WAS OFF THA CHAIN!! They had some fellow FT WORTH folks in the house! Rappin', Hip Hop, Crazy fun times! If you missed it this week, there is always next week!!!!! Better show up!

4. I started the 24 Day Challenge by Advocare - check it out! I am only on day 3 and I am noticing positive changes!!!! 
5. Manicure. OPI. Alpine Snow. Win. (wasn't quite sure how I would feel about this color BUT I must say it's totally growing on me ;)!)

HIGH 5 fo FRIDAY!

Friday, Friday, Friday.... you are always the highlight of my week, never a damper!
So thankful for you ;) 
1. FIG (flavour influence groups) - even though it was our last one for the Fall - it was so great, encouraging, reminding us ladies that the Lord's timing is perfect and we will not get to experience the fullness and abundance of God if we rely on ourselves and try to fulfill our own desire/goals! When facing obstacles/trials we have to hold on to our faith and not give up! Hebrews 12:1-3 ; Ephesians 3:20-21
"20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." - Ephesians 3:20-21

This is one of my favorite verses! It's a perfect display of Christ's love for us, and He is the ultimate provider.




2.  Spice Tea. - Family Recipe - always love drinking it when it's cold outside. :)


3. This past Sunday - my sweet friend Jannehla was baptized! #lifechange was made! AMEN - so happy for you Jannehla.



4. WEEKEND. I get to hang out with some friends that I first met in June of this year when I began taking my prereq's for PA School - it's one friends birthday and we are invited to share in her celebration! Also I will get to see some friends from high school tonight that I hardly ever see & some friends from college!!!! It will be filled with relationships! Of course to add to the excitement - THEMIX & PRIME are this weekend and ****SPECIAL**** PRIME EVENT :D SKATETOWN on Sunday night!!! COME IF YOU CAN :) All the info is below! If you need a ride - let me know.





5. Today at my work, we are having our annual Administrative Thanksgiving Luncheon - except this time we are being different and having a "PIZZA THANKSGIVING" - excited. I love pizza. (well anything Italian for that matter)

PS. My friend Candace is amazing I went from dark roots ombre - back to blonde last Friday! I love my hair!

God is Good ALL THE TIME!

Daily Devos -

"Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; He is the faithful God; keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands..." - Deuteronomy 7:9

THINK:

During uncertain times the enemy, Satan, causes us to focus on the things we don't know rather than what we do know. We start allowing those questions that have no answers to go through our minds. "When are they going to call about the job?", "What did the lab tests show?", "What is he or she thinking?". This cycle of questioning causes us to become stifled and we miss God's hand moving in our lives! It's important for us to set a reminder of what we do know instead of creating questions about what we don't know. The Christian life is not about what we don't know. God wants us to go with what we know - that he is bigger than we can imagine, faithful in all things and good at all times!

PRAY:

Pray for God to stop the questions about what you don't know and ask Him to remind you of what you do know - how big, faithful and good He is!

ACT:

Set a reminder on your phone to remind you at random times of how God is BFG - Big, Faithful and Good ALL THE TIME!

Ooooh, Happy Day!

Friday Night Highlights!

This week was interesting... I was not really stressed about my extremely hard test that came on Wednesday morning, UNTIL Wednesday morning. lol Ironically, okay not so ironic - I had not studied as much as I wanted but at this point for this test it was toooo late, I was "studied out" math is not my forte and I am just not so into studying for math! So alas, the grade I made I take full credit for and no complaining. HEY I passed! I was agreeable with it due to the low amount of studying that occurred. I am going to try harder on the next one! YES, that's the attitude I need to have & repeat "I love Chemistry!" until 12/14/12 when my class ends. lol

Moving on....

1. I am going to be getting some boots from BELK (never ordered from there before but they had a really good sale going on) - I'll take pics when I receive them!
2. I was in need of some "professional attire" for work so I ordered a blazer and skirt for work! - excited to get those in the mail. I just love snail mail and packages in general.
3. I am wearing one of my favorite pairs of boots today. #FRESHFRIDAY

4. started my day off right with some Starbucks and Michael Buble!


5. Wednesday (I forgot my Random Wednesday post :/ - mental note; must get better!) is FIG - Flavour Influence Groups & Men of the House @ Fellowship Church - Grapevine Campus! & we had some new faces! I love meeting new people and getting to hear opinions from girls my age!

I'm quite excited about this weekend, the weeks are flying by me I don't feel like I have a handle on anything any more, perhaps this is what "letting go and letting God" will do to you. I prefer to think of it as organized chaos - except I have a hard time remembering that I am not the organizer. Can I get an Amen?? #ANYONEfeelme
Weekend Additions:
I get another opportunity to shadow a PA at Children's Medical Center this weekend and I am so excited, this will be the 3rd time and we are going to be in a different part of the ER - each time I feel excited/nervous (even though I am only observing) - HOWEVER last time I did get to put gloves on and hold a patients hand/arm while she stitched them up so that he wouldn't move it during the procedure! THAT WAS AWESOME. It's the little things. 


*Also - super fun, studying for Chemistry

It's that time again.... High 5 4 Friday!

This week was an absolute whirl-wind and yet, it felt like it was NEVER going to be the weekend! lol
Boy! am I happy it is finally here :)

Long Time No See... Happy Wed!

Shame on me! It's been a while since I have posted.... a couple new things have happened, an update is in order!!!! ;)

I started school since my last post, and man, Chemistry is just not something my brain is overjoyed to hear about.... when my professor is blathering on and on about atomic compounds, Dalton's Theories, Law of Definite Proportions and Law of Multiple Proportions and the difference between the two..... my mind just WANDERS..... it doesn't want to focus and make sense of what I am hearing, my mind wants to think about other important things, okay, STOP. My mind needs to focus and Chemistry is important. I have to figure out a way to make this exciting! So what am I going to do? You ask.... Well to be honest haven't got that far, just know that I need to like it and be excited about it. We have our first Lab Test Thursday, quiz AND Lab experiment over measure - we get to must wear goggles! Score. On that note, more to come after Thursday...

Last week my mothers mom turned a whopping 96 years young! I got to spend sometime with her on Friday/Saturday. It was a quick trip and I loved every minute I got to spend with her! Happy Birthday Alma Lee!

Saturday evening was the kickoff and my first time as a volunteer at The MIX NEWERA, it used to be on Wednesday evenings but has now moved to Saturday evenings after the service! It's from 6-8pm and there are free snacks & drinks! It's an exciting time to be in the youth at Fellowship Church - Grapevine and all campuses! I am on the "connector crew" which means that I greet all incoming traffic and try to connect with youth that have not been to FC before and get them plugged in and possibly meet some new friends! Drew Nguyen and Derek Donley are the youth pastors and they are absolutely great!!!! I had such a awesome time meeting families and their middle schoolers!! (is that a word? oh well I'm using it)...I can't wait for this Saturday to see what God has in-store!!!!!! :) Definitely humbled by the experience. 



I had the opportunity of speaking to an ED PA-C at Children's because of a connection I had made through my current job and I hopefully will begin shadowing her starting next Wednesday! I am sooooo excited! :) I. CAN. NOT. WAIT.


Flavour Sisterhood is this evening at 7pm and I'm psyched! I haven't been going a lot because I have been in school but now that I have school only tues/thurs I can!! It's an hour of time where women can come together and worship the Lord! :)


Hope you all are having a wonderful week so far! It's almost Friday, we can make it. My verse today is: "I saw a scroll in the right hand of the One who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals." Revelation 5:1 - The Lord has secured our future. Amen!

Weekend came and went....

Last week a lot of exciting things occurred! It showed me that God is really moving in my life but the more he moves the more trusting I have to be and especially patient. I am so excited for what is happening now but also what is to come! So to update and post my late High Five For Friday! Better late than never, as they say..

1.) Saturday evening I attended a leadership meeting for The Mix (6th-8th grade) to volunteer. I am joining the leadership team for TheMIX at Fellowship Church Grapevine! and it used to be on Wednesday evenings but now it will be on Saturday evenings starting September 8th! I'm very excited to begin working with the student ministry again (I worked with Denton Bible Church when I lived in Denton).



2.) I got to speak with not only 1 but 3 PA's about shadowing in the future and 2 of them are at Children's Medical Center - I am so excited because I have always been interested in pursuing Pediatrics! It's now feeling like my dream is closer than ever and I can only thank God for it!!! I will begin after September shadowing an Orthopaedic Surgery PA and the others have yet to set up a schedule but I have a feeling it will be soon!!!!! SO EXCITING. (if you can't tell I'm basically jumping for joy over here!!!!)




3.) Okay so this may be silly but I bought this book thinking even if it doesn't help maybe I will learn something from it. Well let me tell you this is a little gem, I am so glad I bought it! It is very helpful and if I could tell the author one thing - is that I am so appreciative for him giving me a new perspective on making goals, and achieving them also just staying positive through the whole process even if I become discouraged! It's great to hear someone's perspective that is on the other side, that has already experienced what I am going to experience! So Thank you Andrew Rodican!!!


4.) My job! - for those of you that don't know I work at UT Southwestern Medical Center - University Hospitals as a Senior Administrative Assistant for the Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Vice President of Non-Clinical Support Services. I am really blessed to have the job that I have. It is extremely flexible and my boss' are very understanding; also there are a number of perks that come with the job. I mainly am thankful because with starting back to school - they are certainly lenient if I need to study, or take a test, or whatever the case maybe. In past jobs I have not had such lenient supervisors/boss'. So I am so appreciative that the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful position, even if is not the position I/He plans for me to stay in.

5.) I am very excited about the new series our pastor Ed Young is going to begin on September 8th and 9th called "I am not ____ enough."


Hope you all had a great weekend! I enjoyed mine, I didn't really do much of anything! It was relaxing.  HAPPY MONDAY! It's a brand new day, if today were your last day - how would you make His name known to the world. Also Happy First Day of School to all the kiddies out there as well as my teacher friends! My first day is tomorrow. I'm nervous/excited! :)

Time for Everything

Happy Monday y'all!

I got a little behind this past week due to school ending and just being busy in general. Well I will catch you up!

Last week I took Monday - Thursday (yes, looking back should have just added Friday to that list!) off of work so that I would be able to fully focus on school and study for the 3 tests I had. . . . I did really well and was so thankful to the Lord for helping my memory work on those tests, I was really needing to improve my test grades and he helped me out through my struggles! Especially being off from work was quite helpful.

I was able to spend a little time on myself.  I went to get my nails at my favorite place City Nails, which by the way is absolutely one of my favorite things to do, it's so relaxing!

Thursday evening I went to dinner with two of my classmates to celebrate the end of class! We had survived. We decided to go to a place in Addison called The Social House, it was really good by the way and has a good happy hour! We enjoyed and I can't wait to hangout with those girls again soon.

The rest of the weekend I did absolutely. nothing. NOTHING. ah, it was nice. I relaxed and layed out with my good friend DP. We got to catch up from not seeing each other in about a month. Sunday, I went to Fellowship Church in Grapevine and volunteered at Children's Medical Center in Dallas. It was a pretty good weekend.

So the next two weeks will consist of relaxing, getting my apartment decorated, since yes, I still have boxes sitting around. I registered for my next class which will begin on August 27th and it is Chemistry, so begin the prayers now!


I missed the High Five for Friday last week, so this week I will try and make up for it.
